AGN slams indefinite suspension on actress Shirley Igwe
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe indefinitely following allegations that she physically assaulted a crew member on a movie set.
According to reports, Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) during a film production, an incident that sparked outrage within the industry.
In a statement issued to state chapter chairmen and its national leadership, AGN described Igwe’s action as “violent and indisciplined” and said such behavior was capable of bringing the acting profession into disrepute.
The guild further directed its members to steer clear of any movie production involving the actress pending the outcome of its investigation.
