Scott Iguma granted bail over defamation suit

The Lagos State High Court has granted social media personality and activist Scott Iguma bail over a defamation suit filed by a real estate company.

Iguma who was remanded in prison on Friday was granted bail of  500 thousand naira.

The activist had previously called out the real estate company, accusing them of defrauding customers.

His arrest stirred controversy on social media with many influencers calling out the Nigerian police and the real estate firm over his arrest.

Kokopee, a singer warned the firm, stating that Scott Iguma was innocent of the charges levied against him.

“After the hearing, the judge has granted Scott Iguma bail. His legal team are currently working round the clock to make sure all bail conditions are met. One thing I must tell Nigerians is that we can not be silent when it looks like oppression is around the corner. Injustice for one is injustice to all. PWAN be warned, if you say you are innocent , come forward with proof,” he said.
