Video: Chaos at National Assembly as security blocks Senator Natasha
It was chaos at the National Assembly on Tuesday as security operatives blocked Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from entering the complex, despite a court order directing her recall.
Natasha, who had been serving a six-month suspension by the Senate, had vowed to resume her legislative duties after securing a favourable judgment. But when her convoy arrived at the main gate, security personnel stood their ground and refused her access.
In a video shared online, the lawmaker, seated in a black SUV, could be seen waiting as security operatives engaged in heated exchanges with her aides. Activist Aisha Yesufu, who rode in the car ahead of Natasha, was also stopped at the barricade.
The standoff quickly drew attention as supporters began chanting “Push!” and attempted to break through the security cordon. The atmosphere grew tense, with security officials reinforcing their blockade to prevent a breach.
