Nigerian rapper and singer Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf also known as CDQ, has revealed that he was offered a deal from Davido but he turned it down.
CDQ in an interview with the Echo Room, stated that the success of his single ‘Indomie’ earned him a record deal offer from Davido.
The street pop star noted that he turned down the deal because he wanted more of a partnership.
“Davido reached out to me through Twitter back then that he wanted to sign me. He told me he just made a lot of money from his African tour and wanted to invest it in money and make me the biggest rapper in Africa. I told him whatever I’m doing, Masterkraft has to be involved. So, me and Masterkraft went to a meeting with him. And he told him that CDQ is already a movement on the streets. That he should consider a partnership instead of a recording deal. But Davido declined and the deal fell through,” he said.
