A devastating plane crash occurred in Russia’s far eastern Amur region, resulting in the loss of all lives on board.

The Soviet-made Antonov-24 aircraft, carrying nearly 50 people, went down in a remote, thickly forested area, leaving a trail of destruction and no signs of survivors.

The Angara Airlines flight, en route to the town of Tynda from Blagoveshchensk, disappeared from radar around 1:00 p.m. local time. A rescue helicopter later spotted the burning wreckage on a forested mountain slope, approximately 15 kilometers south of Tynda’s airport. Investigators released videos showing smoke billowing from the crash site and fragments of the plane scattered across the forest floor.

A search and rescue team arrived at the hard-to-reach site hours after the crash but found no evidence of survivors. The cause of the crash has not been disclosed, but the airline’s CEO, Sergei Salamanov, mentioned that weather conditions were poor at the time of the incident. Tynda, a town with a population of around 30,000, is located in a densely forested area about 200 kilometers from the Chinese border.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
