Why Lauretta Onochie met Aregbesola behind closed doors

Former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Lauretta Onochie, has explained why she held a private meeting with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, ex-Minister of Interior and current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The meeting took place on Thursday, July 24, and was revealed by Onochie on her verified Facebook page Friday morning.

According to her, discussions focused on national development and strategies to restore Nigeria’s progress.

“Yesterday, Big Brother and Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni RAUF AREGBESOLA, and yours truly had a meeting. It was centered around recovering our nation from her captives,” she wrote.

Onochie, a former presidential aide and staunch supporter of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, previously served as Special Assistant on Social and Digital Media before leading the NDDC Board.

Her meeting with a prominent opposition figure has triggered political speculation, but Onochie provided no further details beyond calling for collaboration to “recover Nigeria.”

“God bless Nigeria,” she added.
