A Metropolitan Police officer, Detective Sergeant Christopher Arnold, has been sacked after inappropriately touching a female colleague.

Arnold, part of Met Operations, was dismissed without notice following a three-day misconduct hearing that concluded on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.

According to the Met Police, the hearing determined that DS Arnold breached professional standards through discreditable conduct, amounting to gross misconduct.

The incident occurred on 22 July 2021, when the detective intentionally touched a female officer on her buttock, prompting an allegation of sexual misconduct.

Commander Lou Pudefoot, who oversees Met Operations, condemned the officer’s actions.

“DS Arnold’s behavior was completely unacceptable and well below the standards expected of a Metropolitan Police officer,” she stated.

“His dismissal is justified.”

As a result, DS Arnold has been added to the College of Policing’s Barred List, prohibiting him from future employment with police forces, local policing bodies, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, or His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
