TCO demands loyalty-focused appointments for 2027
Quick Read
The TCO urged President Tinubu to engage directly with support groups, with assistance from the Director of the Department of State Services, to identify and empower committed leaders.
The Tinubu Campaign Organization (TCO) has called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure that appointments made before the end of his first term reflect the dedication of loyal party members who contributed to his 2023 election victory.
The organization emphasized the need to reward committed supporters to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued by National Coordinator Joshua O. Ilevbare, the TCO expressed concern over recent appointments, which it claims have been dominated by elite-driven nominations prioritizing personal ambition over loyalty.
“Stakeholders and political leaders entrusted with nominating candidates have abandoned true supporters of the President, instead putting forward their surrogates,” Ilevbare stated.
The TCO urged President Tinubu to engage directly with support groups, with assistance from the Director of the Department of State Services, to identify and empower committed leaders.
The organization highlighted the sacrifices of support groups during the 2023 general elections, noting their significant role in securing the APC’s success.
It specifically commended individuals such as Hon. Dauda Adamu, Mr. Joshua Ohioma Ilevbare, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, Prince Ademola Adetokunbo, and Prof. Abraham Musa Peter for their crucial contributions.
The TCO called on the President to remain vigilant against “tactical chameleon persons” within his circle, urging him to stay “three steps ahead” of the opposition.
“We cannot afford to leave any stone unturned in the 2027 elections,” Ilevbare emphasized, stressing the need for strategic planning to ensure victory.
The organization also appealed to the North-East and North-West regions to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, warning that working against him would likely fail and jeopardize their political relevance.
Additionally, the TCO encouraged the President to select a Christian running mate for the 2027 elections to promote balance and unity.
The TCO praised President Tinubu’s transformative economic policies, stating that they are “gradually changing the narrative on the country’s fortune.”
