After surviving 17 bullets from kidnappers, man dies in motorcycle crash

Tragedy has struck in Delta State following the sudden death of a man simply known as “Mr Ability,” less than 24 hours after escaping a deadly kidnap attempt.

Mr Ability reportedly survived over 17 bullets fired by armed kidnappers during an attack in Ogwashi-Uku on Sunday.

According to activist and media personality Harrison Gwamnishu, who visited the victim’s home earlier Monday, Mr Ability was full of life and appreciation.

“This morning, we were in his house. Ability gave me a bottle of Four Cousins wine and appreciated me for the work I do,” Gwamnishu shared.

But what seemed like a second chance at life turned into a heartbreaking twist.

By Monday evening, Mr Ability was on his way to visit his wife in Issele-Uku when the unthinkable happened, he got involved in a fatal motorcycle accident.

“I told him, ‘Ability, clear this surrounding. Na this kind place Kidnappers dey hide,’” Gwamnishu said, recalling his last conversation with the victim. “He showed me his livestock farm and gave me a gift before I left. Only to now see a video of him lying inside a casket.”

The news has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many still struggling to comprehend how a man could survive multiple gunshots one day, and be gone the next due to a road mishap.

“He survived bullets, slept, woke up and now he’s being lowered into the ground,” Gwamnishu added.

Mr Ability’s death occurred in Issele-Uku as he journeyed towards his village, Obomkpa.
