Tsunami panic: Trump raises alarm after massive Pacific quake

U.S. President Donald Trump, on Wednesday has raised an alarm, warning Americans of a looming tsunami threat following a massive earthquake in the Pacific Ocean.

The president in his tweet said: “Due to a massive earthquake that occurred in the Pacific Ocean, a Tsunami Warning is in effect for those living in Hawaii. A Tsunami Watch is in effect for Alaska and the Pacific Coast of the United States. Japan is also in the way… STAY STRONG AND STAY SAFE!”

While Trump confirmed that Hawaii is under a full Tsunami Warning, he also revealed that Alaska and the Pacific Coastline, including parts of California and Oregon, have been placed on watch, meaning residents are advised to stay alert.

The mention of Japan being “in the way” has further heightened international concern, as the Asian country still recalls the memory of the devastating 2011 tsunami.

No details were provided about the magnitude of the earthquake or the specific areas it has affected underwater, but visits to the official tsunami website confirm a large seismic event was indeed recorded hours earlier.

Emergency agencies in Hawaii have begun urging residents to prepare for possible evacuation. In some coastal communities, sirens have reportedly been triggered, and beachfront properties are already being cleared.

So far, Japan’s meteorological agency has issued only an advisory, but monitoring remains active.

This development comes just weeks after Trump was briefed about seismic threats along the West Coast.
