This plea comes in the wake of recent protests in Ghana, where some citizens demanded the expulsion of Nigerians over allegations of rising criminal activities.

Nollywood actor and politician Yul Edochie has called on Igbos living abroad, particularly those in Ghana, to return to their roots and invest in their homeland.

This plea comes in the wake of recent protests in Ghana, where some citizens demanded the expulsion of Nigerians over allegations of rising criminal activities.

Taking to his official Facebook page, Edochie appealed to his kinsmen to see these rejections not as a reason for retaliation but as a spiritual nudge to reconnect with their ancestral land.

“Ndi Igbo, come back home and invest in Igbo land,” he wrote. “If you’re facing rejection on foreign soil, it’s not a sign to fight anybody, it’s a sign to return home. We have wandered for too long. Home is calling.”

The actor described this as a “spiritual call” from Igbo ancestors, emphasizing that a new dawn is emerging in the southeast and it is time for the people to unite and rebuild their land.

“Ana amalu mma si na uno wee puo ilo,” he added, echoing a popular Igbo proverb that loosely translates to “beauty begins at home before it shines outside.”
