BBNaija 10: Sammie breaks silence over ₦4.4 million audition scam claim

Quick Read

In an exclusive report by Punch, Idakwo claimed that Sammie convinced him that paying a huge sum would secure him a spot on the show.

Former Big Brother Naija Season 6 housemate, Samuel Alifa, popularly known as Sammie, has responded to shocking claims that he defrauded a businessman of ₦4.4 million in connection with the BBNaija audition process.

In an exclusive report by Punch, Idakwo claimed that Sammie convinced him that paying a huge sum would secure him a spot on the show.

He alleged that Sammie, capitalizing on their shared roots in Kogi State and Igala tribe, built trust and falsely represented the payment as part of a new backdoor audition format.

“Sammie told me the money was refundable whether I made it into the house or not. He said it was the new twist to the show,” Idakwo told Punch, adding that he sold his car and paid Sammie in 16 instalments.

The businessman said he only became suspicious when it became clear he wouldn’t make it into the show and Sammie began avoiding repayment conversations.

In reaction, Sammie has firmly denied the allegations, stating that he never scammed anyone and never promised Idakwo entry into the BBNaija house.

“I truly appreciate your concern and your interest in hearing my side of the story,” Sammie said in a statement. “However, just as I’ve shared with other journalists, I would prefer not to speak on this matter at the moment. I want to be clear that I did not scam anyone, nor did I promise to get him on the show.”
