Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has scheduled November 11, 2025, for the commencement of the trial of a suspected international drug baron, Ogbonnaya Kevin Jeff, also known by the aliases “Big Boss,” “Kingsley,” and “Padok.”

The decision followed the arraignment of Jeff on a five-count charge brought against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The agency alleged that Jeff was the head of a sophisticated Drug Trafficking Organisation (DTO) and had long been on the INTERPOL Red Notice list before his eventual arrest in Lagos earlier this year.

Jeff was arrested in February 2025 by NDLEA operatives at Isheri Olofin, Lagos, after years of evading international law enforcement.

According to court documents, he allegedly conspired with several international accomplices, including a South African woman, Pieters Santa Elizabeth, who was caught at Incheon International Airport in South Korea attempting to smuggle two kilograms of methamphetamine.

Others linked to his syndicate include John Haze, Robert Jackson, Frank Carlos, Breeze Mankal Johan Stephane, Okori Emmanuel, and a Nigerian named Asa, among others.

The prosecution alleged that on December 24, 2023, Jeff collaborated with Elizabeth to traffic methamphetamine into South Korea.

Similar charges linked him to other cross-border operations involving Mexico and multiple African nationals, where two kilograms of meth were allegedly smuggled or attempted to be smuggled on different occasions in 2023 and 2024.

In another instance, Jeff allegedly conspired with Nigerians identified as Chisom, currently serving a jail sentence in South Korea, and another individual known as Kelly, still at large, to traffic methamphetamine and cannabis sativa-both banned substances under international control.

The fifth charge related to his arrest in February 2025, where NDLEA operatives allegedly found 15 grams of cannabis sativa, locally known as Loud, in his residence at No. 3, Ibukunoluwa Taiwo Street, Agric Estate, off LASU/Idimu Road, Isheri Olofin.

Following his arraignment, the court denied Jeff’s request for bail, citing the severity of the allegations and his international fugitive status.

Justice Kakaki ordered an accelerated hearing of the case.
