Breaking: Nunez set for Saudi switch as Liverpool chase Isak
Liverpool have agreed to sell striker Darwin Nunez to Al-Hilal for €53 million (£46.3 million), with the Uruguayan now expected to undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Saudi Pro League.
Nunez, 26, joined the Reds from Benfica in June 2022 for £64 million but struggled to hit consistent form. He managed 40 goals in 143 appearances, starting just eight league games during Liverpool’s title-winning run last season.
The cash injection from Nunez’s sale could boost Liverpool’s push for Newcastle forward Alexander Isak.
The Magpies reportedly rejected Liverpool’s opening £110 million bid for the 25-year-old Swede and are holding out for a fee closer to £150 million.
