Spanish La Liga side Valencia CF have submitted a formal loan offer to secure the services of Nigerian international Umar Sadiq from Real Sociedad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Sadiq, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, made a significant impact by scoring five goals in 16 league appearances.
His performances proved vital in helping the club avoid relegation, reigniting interest in bringing him back to the Mestalla.
According to reports from Spanish outlet Sport, Valencia are proposing a season-long loan deal that includes covering the entirety of Sadiq’s wages.
The club’s hierarchy believes the 27-year-old striker can bolster their attacking options under new manager Carlos Corberán.
Despite his previous contributions, Valencia had opted against triggering a permanent transfer earlier this summer.
However, with pre-season preparations underway and the need for experienced forwards apparent, the club appears to have reconsidered its stance.
Valencia are not alone in the race to sign the former Almeria striker. Fellow La Liga clubs Getafe and Girona, as well as Turkish outfit Samsunspor, are also reportedly interested in acquiring the Nigerian forward.
Sadiq joined Real Sociedad in 2022 but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter due to injuries and stiff competition.
A successful return to Valencia could provide the Super Eagles forward with much-needed consistency and playing time in a competitive environment.
Negotiations are ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether Sociedad will accept Valencia’s terms or seek alternative options for the striker.
