Interswitch unveils cutting-edge payment solutions to revolutionise Nigeria’s Gaming Industry

Interswitch is reshaping Nigeria’s gaming industry with the launch of a tailored suite of payment and collection solutions aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing customer experiences.

The innovative solutions were unveiled at an exclusive industry event themed “Beating the Odds: Innovation and Solutions for Smarter Betting Operations,” held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The gathering brought together regulators, operators, and stakeholders seeking smarter ways to meet the demands of Nigeria’s tech-savvy gaming audience.

Designed with deep insight into the sector’s challenges, Interswitch’s new suite simplifies payment flows, speeds up collections and payouts, and delivers personalised player interactions—all driven by robust technology.

In his opening remarks, Osasere Atohengbe, Vice President, Sales and Account Management at Interswitch, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to providing intelligent, scalable tools for businesses.

He said the new platform helps gaming operators streamline backend operations from reconciliations and collections to payouts and transaction tracking, thus unlocking greater efficiency and scalability.

Representing the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, Adetoun Adeyemi, Director of Legal, praised the development, stating it would empower both operators and regulators.

She noted the solution supports a transparent, compliant, and responsible gaming ecosystem aligned with Lagos State’s regulatory goals.

At the heart of the offering is the Interswitch Payment Gateway, enabling real-time transactions across diverse channels including cards, bank transfers, USSD, Quickteller, Google Pay, and OPay, all via a unified interface. This simplifies onboarding and elevates user payment experiences.

Also featured is Paydirect, a multi-channel collections platform that enables payments via online portals, bank branches, agents, and POS terminals. It consolidates transactions into one dashboard for easy monitoring and reconciliation.

For fast disbursements, Quickteller’s funds transfer service allows instant winnings or fund transfers to bank accounts nationwide enhancing trust and satisfaction. Another key feature is the Static Virtual Account service, which provides unique account numbers to customers to eliminate deposit reference errors and automate reconciliation.

Beyond payments, Interswitch introduced a range of tools to boost operational efficiency and engagement. The Interswitch Corporate 360 (IC360) platform offers a centralised view of financial operations including tax, vendor payments, and ERP integration. The suite also includes offline USSD solutions, salary lending via Quickteller for employees of partner firms, digital escrow services for secure transactions, fraud management systems, and API tools for seamless tech integration.
