Kano government has vowed to rehabilitate dilapidated primary and secondary schools inherited from the immediate-past administration across the state.

The State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, gave the assurance when he visited Murtala Muhammad Senior Secondary School in Tarauni Local Government Area.

Makoda expressed his commitment to address the deplorable condition of the dilapidated schools inherited from the previous administration.

He said Murtala Muhammad Senior Secondary School is among the dilapidated schools inherited by the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from the previous administration.

He visited the school to assess its condition for immediate renovation.

Supervising the school, Makoda announced that the present administration had inherited a decayed system of education with so many dilapidated schools in the state.

” We inherited a decayed system in the education sector and this is what we are trying to fix. So, we are visiting all the dilapidated schools, even though we have their records, but this is what we have been doing day by day to bring the real situation of the schools we met in Kano State,” he said.

He expressed dismay over the manner some residents are turning Murtala Muhammad Senior Secondary School into a refuse dumping site, stressing that government is going to take appropriate action to control the situation.

Makoda assured that the State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf would continue to stand by his words and make sure that children in the state have access to quality education.
