Southwest chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Ogun State Chairman of the party, Barrister Olufemi John Aina, following the passing of his beloved mother, Alhaja Risikat Agbeyangi, popularly known as Iya Ologi.
Alhaja Agbeyangi passed away in the early hours of Thursday, August 7, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and family values that continue to resonate within her community and beyond.
In a condolence message issued Thursday afternoon in Abeokuta, Ambassador Ajadi described the late matriarch as a woman of virtue, a revered community pillar, and the nurturing force behind one of the party’s most respected leaders in the Southwest.
“The news of Alhaja Risikat Agbeyangi’s passing came as a rude shock. She was not only the mother of our esteemed State Chairman, Olufemi Aina, but a woman whose life reflected strength, wisdom, and dignity,” Ajadi said.
He noted that her demise has left the NNPP family in mourning, stressing that her absence would be deeply felt not only within the Aina household but across the entire structure of the party.
“Mama’s contributions, though quiet and humble, were profound. Through her values, she raised a son who has become a beacon of leadership, integrity, and loyalty within our party. That is a legacy worth celebrating,” he added.
Ambassador Ajadi, who was the NNPP’s 2023 presidential aspirant and governorship candidate in Ogun State, emphasized the role of strong family foundations in shaping great leaders.
He pointed to Senator Aina’s calm temperament, principled leadership, and dedication to public service as reflections of his late mother’s influence.
“Great men are often made at home. Senator Aina’s unwavering dedication to the NNPP and to the people of Ogun State speaks volumes about the values instilled in him by his mother,” he remarked.
Ajadi called on party members and political stakeholders across Ogun and Nigeria at large to offer their support and prayers to Senator Aina during this difficult time.
“In this period of grief, we must stand together in love and solidarity. I urge our members nationwide to pray for the repose of Alhaja Agbeyangi’s soul and to support our Chairman in every way possible. May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus,” he prayed.
Reaffirming his personal commitment to the Aina family, Ajadi stated that he would be present throughout the funeral rites and beyond, providing both emotional and logistical support.
“As a brother, a leader, and fellow son of Ogun State, I assure Senator Aina and his family that they are not alone. We mourn with them, we pray with them, and we will continue to stand by them in this trying time,” he affirmed.
Tributes have continued to pour in from NNPP members and sympathizers across the country, as the party mourns the loss of a woman whose quiet strength and legacy have left an indelible mark.
