In the series, Georgina also opened up about the pain of losing their baby boy, calling it “the best and worst moment” of her life. She said Ronaldo helped her through the grief and encouraged her to enjoy life again.

Cristiano Ronaldo is now engaged to his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriguez. The 40-year-old football star proposed after eight years of dating.

On Monday, August 11, Georgina shared the happy news on Instagram. She posted a picture showing her hand on top of Ronaldo’s, wearing a large diamond ring. In the caption, she wrote:
Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Ronaldo and Georgina, 31, began their relationship in early 2017 and have five children together. These include twins Eva Maria and Mateo (age 8), daughters Alana (7) and Bella (3), and Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr. (15), who is from a previous relationship.

In April 2022, the couple sadly lost Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, at birth.

Their first public appearance as a couple was at the FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017. They officially shared their relationship on Instagram in May that year. Later in 2017, the couple welcomed twins through a surrogate, and Georgina gave birth to Alana in November.

Their love story was featured in Georgina’s Netflix series I Am Georgina. In the show, Ronaldo said she was “very interesting” and “mature for her age.”

Georgina talked about their early days, when she worked at a Gucci store. She recalled how Ronaldo would come pick her up in luxury cars like a Bugatti, which surprised her coworkers. She said,
They would arrive by bus, and I would leave in a Bugatti. People couldn’t believe it.”

Ronaldo added:
“It was funny. I’d wait for her outside the store in flashy cars. Then we’d go home and enter our own world.”

In the series, Georgina also opened up about the pain of losing their baby boy, calling it “the best and worst moment” of her life. She said Ronaldo helped her through the grief and encouraged her to enjoy life again.
Life is hard. Life goes on. I have reasons to move on and be strong,” she said.
