Following Tinubu’s election in 2023, Enefe was appointed to the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Daura, Katsina State, before being named RMAFC Commissioner for Anambra, making him the highest-ranking federal political appointee from the state at the time.

Ekene Okafor Enefe, widely known as Enefe Dike and Odogwu Omambala, is a Nigerian politician and Federal Commissioner representing Anambra State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

He hails from Osile Village, Ogbunike, in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Okafor Enefe, Enefe lost his father at the age of seven. To support his mother and sustain his education, he worked various menial jobs while attending schools across Enugu, Zaria, Onitsha, and Abakaliki.

He began his secondary education at Osumenyi High School and completed it at Ogbunike High School. Enefe later earned a Master’s degree in Criminology and Security Studies from the National Open University of Nigeria.

Enefe’s political career began in 1998 when he founded the New Nigeria Party (NNP), which later merged with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Within the PDP, he served as a National Electoral Committee member and National Fundraising Coordinator during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s campaign.

In 2012, he was appointed Coordinator-General of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) in Anambra State, a role credited with creating job opportunities for local residents. Two years later, he convened a security stakeholders’ summit in Anambra, reportedly raising ₦3 billion for state security initiatives.

In 2019, Enefe contested the Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency seat in the National Assembly under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) but was unsuccessful. In 2022, he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), serving as Deputy Director of Contact and Mobilization (South East) for Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign.

Following Tinubu’s election in 2023, Enefe was appointed to the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Daura, Katsina State, before being named RMAFC Commissioner for Anambra, making him the highest-ranking federal political appointee from the state at the time.

Enefe is also known for his philanthropic work through the Matagu Foundation, established in memory of his mother. The foundation provides scholarships, vocational training, and youth empowerment programs across Anambra State.

With a career marked by cross-party experience, regional influence, and engagement in both electoral coordination and policy implementation, Enefe remains a prominent political figure in Anambra State and the South East region, recognised for his contributions to governance, economic empowerment, and political mobilization.
