Losing Mohbad was the turning point in my life – Bella Shmurda

Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has shared how the death of his close friend and collaborator, Mohbad, deeply affected him and changed his entire outlook on life.

Speaking during a heartfelt TikTok livestream with Joblaq, Bella revealed that Mohbad’s passing forced him into a period of reflection and personal transformation.

“RIP Mohbad. After he passed away my brain reset, everything changed. The way I see things in life also changed,” Bella said.

He continued, “There’s a time that our parents used to tell us when we misbehave, ‘You’re misbehaving, right? Don’t worry, very soon you will understand.’ I’m currently in that phase where I’m starting to understand. I have understood certain things.”

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances that shook the Nigerian music industry and sparked public outcry. For Bella, the loss was not just a public tragedy but a deeply personal one that shifted his perspective on life and purpose.
