APC’s Ayoola-Elegbeji pulls massive votes to win Ogun by-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, Princess Adesola Ayoola- Elegbeji the winner of Ogun Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal constituency by- election held on Saturday.
Ayoola-Elegbeji polled 41,237 to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Bolarinwa Oluwole who polled 14,324, according to result declared by the INEC returning officer for the election, Prof Kazeem Bello.
The final results from the three LGAs that made up the Federal Constituency are: Ikenne LGA APC: 10,227 PDP: 5,595 Remo North LGA APC: 8,052 PDP: 992 ADC: 37 ADP: 43 Sagamu LGA APC: 22,958 PDP: 7,737 Total Votes Cast: APC: 41,237 PDP: 14,324.
Ogun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Sachet Feyijinmi appreciated the voters for their peaceful of conduct during the election.
She also commended security officers for their prompt response to situations during the election.
Meanwhile, former governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has congratulated Princess Ayoola-Elegbeji on her victory in the the Ikenne/Remo North/Sagamu Federal Constituency by-election
Daniel, in a letter to the Ayool-Elegbeji described her triumph as a “well-deserved victory” and a reaffirmation of the collective strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He noted that the win also underscored the continued trust of the electorate in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“Your triumph is not only a personal achievement but also a strong signpost of our collective efforts to further unite our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). It equally reaffirms the confidence our people continue to repose in the leadership of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Daniel wrote.
Senator Daniel also praised Ayoola-Elegbeji for the courage and composure she demonstrated throughout the campaign, describing her as a peace-loving leader who showed that politics can thrive without acrimony. He assured her of his full cooperation and support as she joins the National Assembly midterm.
The Senator also commended the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for what he called a “pivotal role” in ensuring the APC’s success in the constituency.
“With the conclusion of this election, I urge all our compatriots, especially within Remo Federal Constituency, to reunite and prepare to forge a common front in preparation for the task ahead,” he added.
