The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed fears of a split among its leaders, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed fears of a split among its leaders, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi—insisting the three remain bound by a common pact to “rescue and transform Nigeria” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

ADC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Jackie Wayas, gave the assurance on Monday, stressing that personal ambition will not derail the unity of purpose driving the party’s leading figures.

“There can only be one presidential candidate on the ballot in 2027 from the ADC, and the final decision will definitely come down to our internal negotiations and NEC guidelines,” Wayas said.

She explained that the party is still weighing whether to zone its presidential ticket or adopt an open primary system, adding that whatever method is chosen will be guided by consensus and fairness.

Wayas maintained that the alliance binding Atiku, Obi and Amaechi goes beyond politics of convenience.
“The pact to save and transform Nigeria is what has brought the leaders you have mentioned together, and it will keep them together,” she declared.

The ADC chieftain also disclosed that a policy committee is being set up to draft a governance blueprint with measurable first-100-days pledges on the economy, security and electoral reforms.
