Four guards hauled to prison accused of stealing employer’s N100m property

Four security guards have been arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly looting their employer’s home and carting away properties valued at N100 million.

The suspects-Natufo Olufemi (58), Tomiwa Teojon (45), Uche Peter (48), and Adam Mohammed (49), alleged to be the receiver of the stolen goods, were accused of breaking into the residence of their employer, Princess Chichi Ojei, while she was away.

According to the police, the guards conspired to burglarise the property located at 11A/11B Sasegbon Street, GRA Ikeja, between January and July 2025.

The valuables were allegedly sold to Mohammed, after which the guards fled.

They were charged with conspiracy, burglary, and stealing, offences punishable under Sections 411, 307, 287, and 410 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

At the hearing, police prosecutor ASP Ibrahim Haruna maintained that the defendants deliberately connived to breach their employer’s trust and steal.

However, all four pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate O.O. Olatunji granted them N5 million bail each, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till 17 October 2025.

Until they perfect their bail, the defendants are to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility.
