Celebrating Hair, Beauty, and Its History Through Art
The Onidiri Festival, in collaboration with the Tayese Academy of Arts and Culture (TAAC), London, proudly announces the Hairitage Exhibition 2025, a group art exhibition dedicated to exploring the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of hair and beauty. The exhibition will run from 12th – 30th August 2025 and will be available online for global audiences.
With the theme “Hair, Beauty, and Its History,” the exhibition showcases the powerful intersections of identity, heritage, and creativity through visual art, photography, sculpture, fashion, and mixed media.
The curatorial jury was led by Kikelomo Solomon-Ayeni, who brings a wealth of experience in highlighting the cultural narratives embedded within the arts.
The exhibition features works from a diverse collective of talented artists, including: Olalekan Adetunji, Rasaq Adewunmi, Chukwudi Okoro, Toluwalope Molake, Fausat Ladokun, Bukola Abiodun, Hillary Emetuche, Sunday Oluwaseyinfunmi Dabo, Dennis Abhuru, Anselem Nkoro, Chidinma Oligbo, Ruth Adeleye, Abayomi Shogbade, Tejumola Animashaun, Ifejoku Uzor Pamela, and Olanrewaju Q. Atanda.
Speaking about the vision of the exhibition, the organisers said: “Hair has always been more than beauty—it is history, heritage, and identity woven together. This exhibition allows us to reflect on hair as an artistic language, while celebrating its role in shaping culture and self-expression.”
