The pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo State, Chief Solomon Aguele, is dead.
News of his death is contained in a condolence message on Monday in Benin, by the caretaker committee chairman of the party in the State, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi.
Aguele served as chairman of the party from 1999 to 2007.
Aziegbemi in his statement, described the deceased as a “committed leader whose steadfastness, wisdom, and devotion to democratic ideals laid the strong foundation upon which our party continues to stand today.”
He also said, “His leadership during the formative years of our great party in Edo State was pivotal to the growth and successes recorded.
“Chief Aguele will be remembered for his humility, loyalty, and enduring contributions to the PDP and to the development of Edo State,” he said.
