The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will commence a new season on the Friday 22nd of August 2025, with the reigning champions Remo stars up against Rivers united at home.
Both teams will be seeking to find their first win in the tournament. The match is slated for 4pm.

Abia warriors Vs Kano pillars: Abia warriors will be looking to start the new season, playing against kano pillars with their star striker Sunday Megwo who scored 12 goals last season tied with Shola Adelani of Ikorodu City to still deliver the goods.
Kwara Utd Vs Ikorodu City: Ikorodu City will be hosted by Kwara Utd with their star man Shola Adelani still active and ready for the first game of the season having registered 12 goals last season.
Enugu Rangers Vs Kun Khalifat FC: Enugu Rangers will welcome Kun Khalifat FC to Nigeria Premier Football League. Can they prove themselves?
El Kanemi warriors Vs Bendel Insurance: El Kanemi didn’t have a good run last season having escaped relegation, this season they will face Bendel insurance who finished fourth last season just three points behind Ikorodu City in Matchday 1.
