Hundreds of rounds of ammunition, the Central Bureau of Investigation in Warsaw said.

Prosecutors are investigating 170 suspects, 110 of whom are already in custody.

According to investigators, the core group consisted of Polish nationals living in Spain who allegedly organised shipments of cannabis and other drugs to Ireland, Germany, Austria and several Scandinavian countries.

Some of the drugs also ended up in Poland.

The gang is believed to have been active since at least 2017, moving several dozen tons of drugs during that time.

Individual shipments weighing between 40 and 200 kilos were smuggled in truck spare tyres and hidden compartments of delivery vans.

Authorities said the operation succeeded thanks to close cooperation with law enforcement in Spain, Germany, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Italy. (dpa/NAN)
