Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is closing in on a move to AC Milan after reaching a full verbal agreement on personal terms with the Italian club.
The 24-year-old has expressed a clear desire to join the Rossoneri and is now expected to team up with fellow Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze at San Siro.
Talks between Milan and Bayer Leverkusen are at an advanced stage, with Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare submitting an official offer within the last 48 hours.
Leverkusen are currently assessing the proposal, but early indications suggest the Bundesliga club is leaning toward accepting the deal.
Boniface, who played against Milan in the UEFA Champions League last season, has made a strong impression since joining Leverkusen and has been open to a move to Serie A.
Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri reported earlier that the striker had “opened the door” to a Milan move, while La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed that negotiations had formally begun.
If the deal is finalized, Boniface will join a growing list of Nigerian stars in top European clubs and bring additional firepower to Milan’s attack as the club looks to return to the top of Italian and European football.
