AY Makun reacts to reconciliation rumours with ex-wife

Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has reacted to the rumors stating that he is planning to get back with his estranged wife.

AY on his Instagram page stated that those narratives are aimed at misleading the public. He cleared the air, noting that he has never made such statements or authorized any press release.

While debunking the rumors, AY also urged the public to disregard the stories.

“My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts
suggesting that I am in a state of regret and seeking reconciliation in my past relationship. These publications are deliberately manipulative, calculated to mislead the public, and designed solely for traffic and engagement. For clarity, I have never authorized or made any such statements. If I wish to communicate my personal position on any matter, I have the platform, the reach, and the credibility to do so directly- not through faceless blogs and rumor-driven platforms,” he wrote.

AY also announced that he will be taking legal action against the individuals responsible for promoting such defamatory stories.

“All such false narratives should be disregarded by the public. Moving forward, the appropriate legal measures will be instituted against individuals, blogs, or platforms that continue to publish, promote, or circulate these defamatory stories. This serves as a final warning: Enough of the lies,” he wrote.
