Rapper Lil Nas X arrested in Los Angeles

Los Angeles police on Thursday arrested American rapper, Lil Nas X, after he was spotted wandering the streets of LA in nothing but underwear and cowboy boots.

Police said they got a distress call around 5:30am on Ventura Boulevard, where eyewitnesses reported a “half-naked man causing a scene.” That man turned out to be the “Old Town Road” hitmaker.

According to LAPD, the 26-year-old singer “charged” at officers when they arrived, leading to his arrest on suspicion of battery. He was later rushed to a hospital for treatment over what police suspect may be a drug overdose.

In a viral clip published by TMZ, the Grammy winner was seen dancing wildly in the street, shouting at passersby to “come to the party.” The video, already making the rounds online, has triggered fresh concerns about the rapper’s mental health.

Born Montero Lamar Hill, Lil Nas X has built a career on controversy from breaking records with Old Town Road to stirring outrage with his Montero (Call Me By Your Name) music video, which conservatives in the US branded “evil” and “depraved.”

Meanwhile, he is gearing up to release his sophomore album Dreamboy later this year.
