Police partner with hoteliers to curb crime in Kano

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has called on hoteliers to provide timely and useful information on criminal activities within their premises to enable prompt police response.

Bakori made the appeal while receiving the executive members of the Kano Hoteliers Association, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

He emphasized the importance of a steady partnership between the police and hoteliers in the fight against crime, noting that some criminal elements exploit hotel facilities to perpetrate illegal activities.

The Commissioner appreciated the visit and affirmed that the support and cooperation of hoteliers are crucial to the Command’s efforts in maintaining peace and security across Kano State.

He assured the hoteliers that the Command would continue to work tirelessly to protect lives and property, and encouraged them to report any security concerns without hesitation.

Bakori also advocated for sustained collaboration to ensure a safe environment for all residents of Kano State.

In his remarks, the President of the Kano Hoteliers Association, Engr. Emmanuel John, said:

“We are delighted to be here to familiarize ourselves with you and commend your efforts, especially on security alerts and guidelines.

:We have witnessed positive changes in the safety of the state since your arrival. As hoteliers, we recognize the importance of security in promoting tourism and economic growth in Kano State.

“We pledge to collaborate with the Police Command to enhance security measures and report any suspicious activities.”

The Commissioner of Police also received members of the Kano United Bikers Association, led by their Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu.

Speaking during the visit, Rabiu said: “We are here to appreciate the efforts of the Command in maintaining public safety in the state, and to express our commitment to working closely with the police to sanitize our system and ensure the safety of our members and the general public.”
