EPL: Missed penalty costs United maximum points against Fulham

Fulham and Manchester United played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in their Premier League encounter at Craven Cottage on Saturday, August 24, 2025.

Alexandre Pato put United ahead with a well-taken finish, but the hosts responded through Harry Wilson, whose strike midway through the second half ensured Marco Silva’s men avoided defeat on home soil.

Wilson’s equalizer was just reward for their resilience and fighting spirit, and the Cottagers threatened to go on and snatch all three points as they finished the stronger of the two sides.

Although United may feel disappointed not to have claimed victory, the draw was a fair reflection of the balance of play.

Fulham’s late surge ensured they remain unbeaten at home this season, while Ten Hag’s side will rue missed chances that prevented them from climbing higher up the table.

The result leaves both clubs with plenty to ponder Fulham will take confidence from their comeback, while Manchester United must address their lack of clinical finishing if they are to mount a serious challenge this season.
