The All Progressives Congress (APC) says governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are full of hypocrisy, and have betrayed public trust.
The ruling party said this in a fiery statement released Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The statement said the PDP was a “comatose” organisation, ravaged by internal crisis and rejected by Nigerians.
The APC was reacting to comments made by PDP governors after their recent meeting in Zamfara State, where they accused the APC of lacking vision and stifling democracy.
“The PDP has nothing of value to offer Nigerians now,” said Morka even as he accused the opposition part of projecting its own failures onto the APC. He said the PDP’s recent comments were “morbidly comical,” and claimed the party was in terminal decline.
Morka said APC’s dominant performance in recent by elections — including wins in traditionally non-APC strongholds like Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano — as proof of Nigerians’ confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
According to him, the results were a “categorical declaration of loss of confidence and rejection” of the PDP.
The statement said the PDP governors were grossly underperforming despite enjoying unprecedented federal allocations under the Tinubu administration, noting over ₦2 trillion was distributed to states as of July 2025 — the highest in Nigeria’s history.
“Even with record-breaking revenue allocations, PDP governors continue to fail their citizens,” Morka said.
“They are in no position to lecture Nigerians about 2027,” he added.
