Bimbo Akintola makes shocking claim about Nigerian men

Nollywood veteran Bimbo Akintola has made a shocking claim about Nigerian men and infidelity. While in a podcast interview with Ayo Adesanya, Akintola stated that there will always be infidelity and polygamy in the Nigerian society.

Akintola also claimed that over 90% of men cheat on their partners. She noted that this behaviour can be as a result of generational trauma and normalising bad habits.

“I don’t know where this idea of fidelity in Africa came from. Your father cheats, your grandfather cheated, my father has two wives. I can’t tell you whether to stay or leave but you leave this one and move to the next one, you still have the same issue. They all cheat, 90 percent of them cheat, it’s engraved in them.I know you might want to change them but I hear characters are fully formed when you’re seven years old. Some of them started by following their daddy to girlfriends’ house.

Akintola stressed that although the numbers are high, it does not excuse such behaviours.

“I’m not excusing it don’t get me wrong, I am just being realistic when it comes to these kinds of situation,” she said.
