Cardi B on trial over alleged assault of security guard

American rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almànzar, famously known as Cardi B is currently on trial in Los Angeles over a case of assault.

The rapper was accused of assaulting a security guard, Emani Ellis in 2018. The security guard, Ellis, claimed that Cardi B body- shamed her, spit on her and called her racial slurs. She also accused the rapper of threatening to get her fired from her job.

“She was jumping up and down, body shaming me, racial slurs and a lot. The whole incident was super traumatizing for me. She did a lot that day,” She stated.

The trial which began on Tuesday extended to Wednesday, with Ellis demanding monetary compensation for damages.
