In a statement on Wednesday, the Head of Public Affairs, Tope Ojo, said the report making such allegations was misleading.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has denied claims that some ad hoc staff who worked during the July 12 local government elections have not been paid.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Head of Public Affairs, Tope Ojo, said the report making such allegations was misleading.

He explained that all verified ad hoc staff had already been paid within the last two weeks, which he described as one of the fastest payment records in the commission’s history.

According to Ojo, the only people yet to receive their money are those with incorrect or incomplete bank details. He added that affected staff have been advised to update their information with electoral officers in their local government areas so that payments can be processed quickly.

Ojo also said that LASIEC had not received any formal complaints from the staff and urged the media to avoid publishing stories that could create false impressions.

He stressed that the commission values the work of its ad hoc staff and remains committed to transparency, fairness, and integrity in carrying out its duties.
