The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded massive breakthroughs in Adamawa, with over 100 suspects arrested and nearly 600kg of illicit substances taken off the streets.
State Commander, Aliyu Abubakar, disclosed the development in Yola on Wednesday while presenting the Command’s July–August scorecard.
According to him, convictions have already been secured for some offenders, while dozens of cases remain pending in court. He added that several vehicles used for trafficking were also impounded.
The NDLEA chief further revealed that the Command intensified its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, reaching thousands of students and members of the public, while also rehabilitating drug-dependent persons back into society.
He assured that the fight against drug abuse and trafficking will continue across Adamawa’s 21 LGAs.
