The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has appointed a new District Head of Baraden Dutsin-Mari in the Koko-Besse Local Government Area of the state.
The new appointment occurred after the death of the former District Head, Alhaji Muhammad Mualliyadi.
Garba Dutsin-Mari, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs announced this to journalists in the state’s capital on Wednesday.
“The appointment is in recognition of the need to ensure continuity in leadership and to further strengthen our traditional institutions. I call on Alhaji Bello Marafa Besse to be fully committed to the peace, unity, and progress of his people. Leadership is a sacred trust, and we are confident he will deliver,” he stated.
The commissioner also commended governor Idris for approving the appointment, noting that it shows his support for the grassroot.
“This decision reflects the governor’s respect for tradition and his unwavering commitment to grassroots development,” he added.
The new district head, Bello Marafa Besse, also expressed his gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve.
“I consider this appointment a call to service. I will work closely with my people to preserve our heritage, foster peace, and support government efforts towards development,” he said.
