The Nigerian forward, who topped the scoring charts in the Belgian Jupiler League last season with 30 combined goals and assists, has been identified as a serious target and is expected to make the switch to Molineux before the transfer deadline.
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has been keen to add more firepower following the departure of Matheus Cunha, and Arokodare is viewed as the ideal solution. His signing would follow the arrivals of Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias, further strengthening the squad’s attacking options.
The move comes amid continued speculation over the future of Jorgen Strand Larsen, with Newcastle United preparing a third £60m bid for the Norwegian. Wolves are determined to be ready in case Larsen departs, and Arokodare is set to step in as a key replacement.
Talks with Getafe striker Christantus Uche had stalled, but the Arokodare deal is progressing smoothly, leaving the Wanderers confident of getting it over the line.
If final details are agreed, Arokodare is expected to become Wolves’ newest signing in the coming days, giving fans hope of a turnaround after a difficult start to the Premier League season.
