Arrest that saved Chelsea fans after Fulham clash

London was thrown into chaos on Saturday evening after police arrested an armed man outside Stamford Bridge, moments after Chelsea’s clash with Fulham.

The suspect, described as heavily armed, was spotted in the vicinity of the stadium wearing a helmet and a tactical vest, carrying a firearm and extra rounds of ammunition.

The shocking incident occurred shortly after the final whistle of the Premier League fixture between Chelsea and Fulham on August 30, 2025. Witnesses say the man appeared “ready for action” before police swooped in.

“He had the full kit — a helmet, body vest, and was strapped. Thank God the police got him before anything worse happened,” a fan who had just left the stadium told reporters.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the suspect’s identity or motive, but police sources described it as a “potential mass shooting” that was foiled just in time.

No casualties were reported, and investigations are ongoing.
