The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has rolled out a timetable to guide preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage and cautioned stakeholders against missing key deadlines.

In a statement shared on its X handle on Friday, the commission outlined critical dates for state boards, private operators, and intending pilgrims, stressing that compliance would determine Nigeria’s smooth participation in the exercise.

Part of the schedule includes the official signing of agreements with Saudi authorities later this year, as well as early remittances and contract confirmations for accommodation, transport, and camp bookings.

The commission made it clear that no extensions will be granted for the final visa issuance deadline, warning that lapses could disrupt the country’s overall Hajj operations.

“These timelines are non-negotiable. All stakeholders must ensure early compliance to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free Hajj for Nigerian pilgrims,” NAHCON said.

Observers say the new rules reflect Saudi Arabia’s tightening of digital and logistical requirements due to growing global demand for Hajj slots, making Nigeria’s strict adherence to NAHCON’s plan more crucial than ever.
