Pop queen, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has hit a major milestone, 20 years since she stormed the global music scene. And true to her style, she marked it not with fireworks, but with heartfelt gratitude.
Taking to X on Saturday, the Barbadian superstar penned an emotional note to fans, family and industry figures who’ve stood with her since that very first release two decades ago.
“Twenty years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music,” Rihanna wrote. “So many of you were a part of my life and career since the very beginning, and some of you have joined the adventure along the way. I’m forever grateful to all of you.”
The 36-year-old, now one of the world’s best-selling artists with over 250 million records moved, didn’t forget the One she says made it all possible. “I thank God, He’s been very generous to me and the glory belongs to Him,” she added.
From her breakout hit Pon de Replay in 2005 to nine Grammy Awards, Billboard chart dominance, and a billion-dollar beauty and fashion empire under Fenty, Rihanna has built a legacy that stretches far beyond music.
For her, though, the highlight remains the people. the fans who sing along, the family that anchors her, and the collaborators, from DJs to choreographers, who’ve helped shape a career that refuses to slow down.
