Chief Peremobowei was a courageous, outspoken man who was also deeply committed to family and community values. His death, many said, is a great loss not only to the Ajube family, but also to the entire Arogbo Ijaw nation.

It was a day of grief and solemnity in the Arogbo Ijaw kingdom of Ondo State as the remains of Chief Peremobowei Ajube, fondly known as Big Fish, the elder brother of Senior High Chief Bibopere Ajube, were laid to rest last Saturday.

The final journey of Peremobowei who died at 52 began on Friday with a service of songs at Bolowou in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State. Family members, associates, and community leaders gathered to honour him with prayers and tributes.

The night came alive as the Abobra Musical Band played until daybreak in his memory, turning the atmosphere into a blend of mourning and celebration of life.

On Saturday morning, his body was moved to God’s Own City, Agadagba Obon, where he was committed to mother earth in the presence of a large crowd of mourners. The burial drew people from across the Niger Delta, and the kingdom stood still as the community bade farewell to one of its own.

In their message of thanks, the Ajube family expressed gratitude for the show of love, solidarity, and prayers during the funeral period.
