Former New York Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, has been left battling serious injuries after a car accident in New Hampshire on Saturday night.
Giuliani, 81, was driving a rental car when it was rammed from behind, leaving him with a fractured vertebra, deep cuts and bruises, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg.
His spokesman, Michael Ragusa, confirmed the development in a statement, saying the former mayor had just stepped in to help a woman escaping domestic violence before tragedy struck.
“Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” Ragusa said.
Giuliani, who rose to prominence as New York’s mayor during the September 11 attacks and later served as Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, is currently receiving medical treatment.
