Villa sign Lindelof, chase Sancho, Elliott in loan deals

Aston Villa have sealed the signing of ex-Man United defender Victor Lindelof on a free transfer and are closing in on loan moves for Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott.

Lindelof, 31, Sweden’s captain, joined after running down his United contract. Sancho, 25, had earlier rejected a switch to Roma despite interest from Juventus, while Liverpool’s 22-year-old Harvey Elliott is set for a £35m move with an obligation to buy.
