The Pity The Boy crooner disclosed that his addiction to illicit substances spiraled out of control during his university days, leading to a terrifying overdose that forced him to call his mother to book a flight back to Abuja.
“I was a very bright student at UNILAG, but I was indulging in drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I called my mother to book my flight to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drugs once before quitting,” he said on the Tea With Tay podcast.
Odumodublvck said he was grateful to God for sparing his life, noting that many young people who fall into substance abuse do not survive.
“There are some people that went into that life and didn’t make it out. Some didn’t make it alive, some lost friends to it, some even committed suicide because of overdose. I’ve seen a pregnant woman and her husband battling drug addiction. It’s really terrible,” he lamented.
