Another radio station gutted by fire in Oyo

A fire has destroyed equipment and properties worth millions of naira at the studio of a radio station inside Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State.
The incident happened on Monday and report says it was caused by an electrical surge from the air-conditioning system.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident in a statement. He said the fire was reported at 11:55 am on September 1, 2025.
According to him, firefighters led by PFS 11 Makinde quickly responded to the call. When they arrived, the studio was already engulfed in flames and smoke. They managed to stop the fire from spreading to other areas.
“No casualty was recorded, and we were able to save properties worth millions of naira,” Akinwande said. He advised the public to always have fire extinguishers and use them properly to stop small fires before they spread.
