PDP told to make president tickets open

The North Central Support Group (NCSG) for Dr. Gbenga Hashim’s presidential ambition has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allow all aspirants contest for the 2027 presidential ticket, regardless of their region.⁴

The group’s convener, Hon. Ezekiel Bilfa, made this appeal while speaking with journalists at the PDP State Secretariat in Jos, Plateau State.

Bilfa asked the party’s leaders to review its recent zoning decision so that every aspirant can have a fair chance in the primaries. He added that Nigerians are united in their desire for effective leadership that can address economic and security challenges, noting that the PDP has the capacity to produce such leaders.

“While we understand the importance of party strategies, we appeal to the PDP leadership to reconsider zoning the presidential ticket to the South,” Bilfa said.

He commended the National Working Committee of the party, led by Chairman Iliya Damagun, along with the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders, for their efforts ¾in stabilizing the party ahead of the Ibadan national f convention.

The group also restated its support for Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s second term bid and for Dr. Hashim’s presidential ambition, saying both leaders have the vision, leadership skills, and character needed to move Plateau State and Nigeria forward.
