The Rivers State Police Command has educated the general public on how collecting transport fare for a visit without fulfilling the agreement is an offence.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, explained this in a statement released on Thursday.
She explained that obtaining transport fare without fulfilling the agreement to visit the other party, is a fraudulent act.
While stressing on the need for transparency, Grace noted that the police treats such case like the case of someone found guilty of 419.
“I am here to give you this piece of information because I am your number one bestie. Collecting transport fare without honouring the agreement is obtaining money under false pretence,” SP Iringe-Koko said.
